How to Track a Blockchain Transaction After Purchase
Bought cryptocurrency on Paybis and want to check the status? We explain what a txid is, how to use a blockchain explorer and how long to wait for BTC, ETH and USDT confirmations.

You paid for your purchase on Paybis, the money was charged to your card, but the cryptocurrency has not yet appeared in your wallet. This is a normal situation — a blockchain transaction takes time to confirm. But how do you make sure everything is going correctly and your funds have not been lost?
That is exactly what blockchain explorers are for — public tools that let you track any transaction in real time. This article explains how to use them.
What Is a txid and Where to Find It
After Paybis sends cryptocurrency to your wallet, the platform provides a txid — transaction ID, a unique identifier for the transaction. It is a long string of letters and numbers, for example:
a1b2c3d4e5f6789012345678901234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef123456
This number is what you use to find your transaction on the blockchain and check its status.
Where to find your txid: in the confirmation on the Paybis website after payment, in the email from Paybis sent to your inbox, or in the transaction history section of your Paybis account. Save the txid straight away — you will need it if you want to check the status or contact support.
What Is a Blockchain Explorer
A blockchain explorer is a public service that lets you view the contents of a blockchain: all transactions, addresses, blocks and their statuses. Think of it as an open book — anyone can find any transaction by its txid.
One important point: different cryptocurrencies use different explorers, because each coin has its own blockchain.
For Bitcoin use mempool.space or blockchain.com. For Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens (including USDT on the Ethereum network) use etherscan.io. For USDT on the Tron network (TRC-20) use tronscan.org. For Litecoin use blockchair.com.
If you are not sure which network your coin was sent on, check the transaction details on Paybis — the network is shown there.
Step-by-Step: How to Check a Transaction
Step one — copy the txid that Paybis provided after your purchase.
Step two — open the correct explorer for your coin. For Bitcoin that is mempool.space, for Ethereum — etherscan.io, for USDT TRC-20 — tronscan.org.
Step three — paste the txid into the search bar on the explorer site and press Enter or the search button.
Step four — review the transaction information. You will see the status, number of confirmations, sender address, recipient address and amount.
What Transaction Statuses Mean
Pending — the transaction has been broadcast to the network but has not yet been included in a block. This is normal, especially for Bitcoin during periods of high network congestion. Just wait.
Confirmed — the transaction has been included in a block and is receiving confirmations. The more confirmations, the more final and irreversible the transaction becomes.
Failed — the transaction did not go through. For Bitcoin and Ethereum this is rare when the fee is set correctly. If you see this status, contact Paybis support.
How Many Confirmations Are Needed and How Long to Wait
Each network operates at its own speed and requires a different number of confirmations for a transaction to be considered final.
Bitcoin — one block is created approximately every 10 minutes. Most wallets consider a transaction confirmed after 3 blocks (around 30 minutes) and fully final after 6 blocks (around one hour). During periods of high network congestion the wait may be longer.
Ethereum — a block is created every 12–15 seconds. A transaction is usually confirmed within 1–3 minutes. Most wallets consider it final after 12–20 confirmations, which takes a few minutes.
USDT on the Tron network (TRC-20) — one of the fastest options. Transactions confirm in 1–3 minutes with minimal fees. This is why TRC-20 is a popular choice for fast USDT transfers.
Litecoin — a block is created every 2.5 minutes, confirmation takes around 5–10 minutes.
How to Confirm the Funds Are Coming to You
Once you have found the transaction in the explorer, check two things.
The recipient address — it must match your wallet address. Compare the first 6–8 and last 6–8 characters. If they match, the funds are heading to you.
The amount — confirm that the amount in the transaction matches what you purchased. A small difference is possible due to the network fee deducted during sending.
If the recipient address does not match yours, contact Paybis support immediately with your txid.
Why Cryptocurrency Is Not Yet Showing in Your Wallet
There are several reasons why your wallet may not yet be showing the incoming funds.
The transaction is still Pending — simply wait. This is especially relevant for Bitcoin during peak network hours.
The wallet has not synced — some mobile wallets do not update the balance instantly. Open the app and give it time to synchronise, or restart it.
Wrong network — if you bought USDT and provided a Tron (TRC-20) wallet address but Paybis sent it on the Ethereum (ERC-20) network or vice versa, the funds may not appear. Make sure the network in the transaction matches the network your wallet supports.
The transaction has not yet received enough confirmations — some wallets only show the balance after a certain number of confirmations. Check the status in the explorer.
What to Do If a Transaction Takes a Long Time to Confirm
For Bitcoin, a wait of more than two hours while still Pending may mean the fee was too low for current network congestion. In that case the transaction will still confirm eventually — just later, when congestion eases. Bitcoin transactions do not get lost — they either confirm or are returned to the sender after a few days if the fee is too low.
When buying through Paybis, the network fee is set automatically based on current congestion levels — this reduces the likelihood of a long wait. If more than two hours have passed and the transaction is still Pending, contact Paybis support with your txid and they will help clarify the situation.
